Behind the mic with Tim Hunt: Meet the emcees of evokeAG. 2025
In this Q&A series, we’re sitting down with the four emcees who will light up the stage on February 18-19 in Brisbane, Queensland. In the final series we chat with Tim Hunt, Principal, Tim Hunt Consulting. Tim brings more than 25 years’ experience in analysing trends in international markets and food and agriculture supply chains to the table – and to the stage at evokeAG. 2025.
Why me and why now?
I have always been drawn to the quest of understanding food systems, finding the ‘so what’, and harnessing this for the benefit of businesses and communities.
Twenty-five years plus down the road, I am finding more and more that the answers are usually already in the room. And that by guiding the conversations in the right direction we can together bring the solutions forward.
evokeAG. provides a wonderful opportunity to play that role. We have the right people, in the right place, focused on the right issues.
I can’t wait to help bring out the magic!
The Common Ground we must make, and why it’s urgent…
We share (and even comprise) the supply chains that take our product through from idea to consumer. Yet so often, the relationships are transactional, or even confrontational, along that chain.
To solve todays challenges we must move from transactional to collaborative relationships. I work along the length of the supply chain; from input suppliers, through farmers, processors and to retail and food service.
Directly or indirectly, fostering collaboration is usually part of what I do. It is exciting to be part of a shift in mindset, and emergence of better pathways.
Our supply chains are Common Ground – realising and harnessing that is key.
The most compelling thread to me is…and why I think this conversation is so important right now…
For me, its Economics and Trade.
I am not an optimist; I am a realist who thinks this industry happens to have a bright future.
And that the road to that future will be underwritten by profitable businesses.
So, amongst the innovation and tech, I am looking most for the sustainable economics that will underpin these ventures, and the opportunities to trade that are so often vital to that.
I want evokeAG. 2025 delegates to….
