The relationship between potential investor and startup can sometimes be a courtship experience.

You might start asking your friends before you venture on a first date. There’s the initial meeting and research. If there’s a spark – well, more dates may follow – building trust, aligning ethics and serious investment.

But if you don’t make a good impression, you part ways and keep looking.

Thankfully for Azaneo’s Liam Hescock and Matthew Pryor from Tenacious Ventures it’s been a successful courtship that’s led to a great business relationship. As our contributor Jayne Cuddihy found out, there’s hard work in maintenance, just like any other serious relationship.
