Dynamic and diverse group of industry leaders to headline evokeAG. 2025
AgriFutures evokeAG. has today revealed an exciting lineup of speakers for evokeAG. 2025, bringing together the most innovative minds and disruptors from across the agrifood supply chain.
The high-energy program is set to spark provocative conversations and bold debates on the current challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of agrifood.
With a dynamic new format for 2025, the event promises an immersive, hands-on experience designed to ignite collaboration and inspire the kind of critical thinking that drives real action.
Taking place in Brisbane on 18-19 February 2025, thought leaders include 2023 ACT Australian of the Year and founder of Goterra, Olympia Yarger, who is transforming food waste into insect protein at scale; Mike Casey, CEO of Rewiring Aotearoa, the world’s first fully electric farm; Kylie Frazer, Founder of Flying Fox Ventures, a leader in agritech investment; and Dr Robert Van Barneveld, CEO of the Sunpork Group which produces 20% of Australia’s pork.
The 2025 theme, Common Ground, calls for the global agrifood tech and innovation community to unite and drive real impact for a more sustainable, productive and profitable future for our food systems. evokeAG. is a unique chance for founders, funders and adopters to break out of siloes, collaborate and together, turn ideas into groundbreaking solutions.
This thriving landscape makes Brisbane the ideal host city for evokeAG. 2025. A strong representation of Queensland-based leaders will bring on the ground insights and drive conversations to shape the future of agrifood together.
Local speakers include Melinee Leather, Managing Director of Leather Cattle Co; Lindsay Davies, Coordinator of Caring for Country; David Harris, CEO, Australian Agricultural Company and Luke Chaplain, Founder of world-leading drone mustering and aerial stockmanship company SkyKelpie. Chaplain will captivate delegates with a live, remote mustering demonstration right on stage, showcasing the future of livestock management in real time.
Harriet Mellish, General Manager, AgriFutures Global Innovation Networks emphasised, “we’ve curated an exceptional lineup of speakers working on the front line of the agrifood sector, who will bring on-the-ground insights into the industry’s most pressing challenges and breakthrough solutions.”
“At this critical turning point for the industry, evokeAG. 2025 will provide a platform for unfiltered discussions on future of food security, workforce, climate resilience, biosecurity, technology, geopolitical issues and more, across the entire supply chain.”
“We are excited to inspire fresh thinking and drive meaningful change through globally relevant conversations,” Mellish added.
Olympia Yarger, CEO, Goterra and pioneering maggot farmer commented on the unique opportunity evokeAG. offers to spark the important conversations.
“evokeAG. has a created an exciting platform to truly challenge the status quo and open our industry’s aperture to the possibilities of our collective future. I continue to appreciate the value of this touch point in challenging our perceptions and creating a collaborative space for discussion and celebration.”
“I’m looking forward to challenging conversations and pointed participation.
I think our industry is ready for change and is seeking opportunities to blow open conventional thinking so we can determine our way forward.
“Business continuity in a climate changed world is the only objective I believe of relevance for the agrifood supply chain. Any key results achieved from this focus will support and empower our industry during this transitional period, enabling us to continue delivering world-class produce both locally and globally,” Yarger added.
Mike Casey, CEO, Rewiring Aotearoa, highlighted the critical need to unite in driving agriculture’s energy transition.
“I’m excited to participate in evokeAG. 2025 because it offers a stage to advocate for the urgent shift from fossil fuels to renewable electricity in the agrifood sector,” Casey said.
“Engaging with forward-thinking leaders and innovators allows us to share insights on how electrification can enhance efficiency and sustainability in agriculture, making a real impact on our environmental footprint.
“The 2025 program excites me because it prioritises discussions on sustainability and innovation. I’m eager to talk about how transitioning to electric power can revolutionise farming practices, from reducing emissions to improving energy efficiency and saving money.”
Kylie Frazer, Founder of leading Australian venture capital firm Flying Fox Ventures emphasised the unique opportunity evokeAG. brings to connect founders and funders across the supply chain.
“evokeAG. brings together those who get their hands dirty with those who write the cheques. As a VC, I’m here to learn as much as invest, because the best innovations come from the field, not the boardroom,” Frazer said.
“I’m particularly excited for sessions like Sustainability by Injection where we’ll explore how trends like Ozempic are reshaping food demand and ensure our producers aren’t left exposed.
“In my session The Great Fallacy: The Future is Female I hope to dive into real power dynamics – why women are still sidelined in decision-making and how we can change that.
And when it comes to agrifood tech innovation, it’s time to stop chasing shiny objects and start solving real problems.
“I’m interested in backing founders who understand that the most sophisticated algorithm means nothing if it can’t handle dust, poor connectivity and a farmer’s legitimate scepticism,” Ms Frazer added.
Over two action-packed days, evokeAG. 2025 will push the limits of agrifood innovation through dynamic sessions, interactive breakouts, and immersive experiences that will empower attendees to think bigger and act boldly.
evokeAG. 2025 sessions include:
- Australian agritech’s moment: lead or lose the future
