evokeAG. Culinary Capital

The evokeAG. Culinary Capital Dinner is being reimagined for 2025 to foster deep connections and meaningful conversations between startups, investors, producers, and corporates. This event will feature a dynamic format where each table is hosted by a startup and focuses on specific future forces topics such as artificial intelligence, climate change, and biosecurity

About the event

Attendees will rotate between tables for each course, engaging in facilitated discussions designed to promote networking and collaboration. This event will be open to five companies participating in Startup Alley and five companies participating in Scaleup Station, two of which must be international.

Who can apply?

The evokeAG. Culinary Capital is open to agrifood tech startups and scaleups, who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a registered business (can be registered internationally)
  • Must be addressing common challenges in the global agrifood sector
  • Must have a clear and scalable business model with high growth potential with evidence of market demand and opportunity for the technology or solution.
  • Must have the ability to expand and adapt io different markets particularly within Australia, New Zealand, and the APAC region
  • Must be focused on creating significant value on-farm and supply chain and end-user impact
  • Must have read and understood the evokeAG. Startup Program Terms & Conditions.

What are we looking for?

  • Innovation and technology: Technology and/or innovation must be addressing common challenges in the global agrifood sector in one or more of the following areas: Artificial intelligence, Climate and sustainability, Geoengineering, Production, Cybersecurity, Workforce, Connectivity, Biologicals, Energy, First nations foods, Supply chain and Rural mental health.
  • Value Proposition: The technology or innovation must offer a clear solution to a specific, identified problem. Companies should demonstrate how their innovations have impact and lead to positive change in the agrifood sector.
  • Stage of development: Companies should be in the early to growth stages of development. This includes startups and scaleups that have a minimum viable product (MVP) or proof of concept and are actively seeking commercialisation or scaling opportunities. Preference may be given to companies with a clear roadmap for product development, market penetration, and growth.
  • Market potential: Applicants must demonstrate a strong market potential for their innovations. This includes a clear understanding of the target market, customers, and competitive landscape. Companies should provide evidence of market demand and the potential for scalability and profitability.
  • Demonstrable impact: Companies should showcase how their innovations contribute to positive change in the agrifood sector. This could be through improving sustainability, increasing efficiency, enhancing food safety, addressing food security, or driving environmental and social impact.
  • Diversity: Diversity and inclusion will be assessed in the applications including:
    • Female founders and mixed-gender founding teams.
    • Indigenous entrepreneurs and companies actively engaging Indigenous communities.
    • Startups from regional and remote areas.
    • Companies integrating culturally significant practices or Indigenous knowledge systems.
  • Investment readiness: Companies should be actively seeking investment or partnerships. They should have a well-defined investment thesis, showcasing their funding requirements, valuation, and growth plans. Startups should be prepared to engage with potential investors and partners during the dinner and post-event.

What will you receive?

  • 1 x startup/scaleup station at evokeAG. 2025: Each participating company will receive one dedicated station within the Startup Alley exhibition area. The branded station will be curated for the end-user experience and can include power, LCD screen, desk space for product displays allowing startups to showcase their innovations effectively and stools. The startup station space is 2m x 2m per startup.
  • 2 x evokeAG. 2025 tickets: Each company will be provided with two full-access tickets to the two-day evokeAG.  2025 event.
  • 2 x evokeAG. Culinary Capital tickets: The evokeAG. Culinary Capital will be held on Monday, 17 February 2025. This event offers an exclusive networking opportunity with engaging facilitated discussions designed to promote networking and collaboration between startups, investors, producers, and corporates.
  • 3 x nights’ accommodation: To ensure a seamless experience for participating companies, the program will cover the cost of three nights of accommodation in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. The accommodation will be conveniently located near the event venue, providing startups with a comfortable and convenient stay during the evoke 2025 event. Companies will need to pay for their own airfares and transfers.
  • Featured on growAG: Each participating company will be featured on the AgriFutures growAG. platform – a premier online resource that showcases innovative agrifood tech and innovation. This comprehensive resource connects industry stakeholders, investors, and potential partners with our startups.
  • evokeAG.Startup Alumni: By participating in Startup Alley, each company becomes a member of the evokeAG. Startup Alumni. This program offers post-event support initiatives, including access to sponsorship opportunities for agrifood tech events and mentorship opportunities. Being part of the alumni community provides ongoing support and networking opportunities for continued growth and development.

  • Monday, 16 September 2024: Applications open at 9.00am AEST
