Groundbreakers Program

Meet the 2025 cohort of Groundbreakers!

The 2025 Groundbreakers program saw five emerging leaders in agrifood, innovation and related industries build their capabilities, skills, confidence and networks, to ultimately present their key message, innovations or research project on an evokeAG. 2025 stage in Brisbane, Queensland.

Working with an industry professional, participants received in depth mentoring before, during and post the evokeAG. 2025 event, and a bursary post-event to further support their goals.

About the program

The 2025 evokeAG. Groundbreaker Program is designed to build the capacity and capability of Australian, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region’s future and emerging leaders, who are dedicated to the continuous improvement and prosperity of Australian agriculture and its value chain.

The program provides a platform for participants to share their innovations and research projects and demonstrate their passion for Australian agrifood innovation.

The program is dedicated to ensuring Australia is a leader in accessing and adopting, as well as developing and exporting, agrifood technologies and innovation, and recognising the role that young leaders play in supporting this.

What makes a Groundbreaker?

  • Commitment: Leaders who are committed to Australian rural communities, their sustainability and advancement and are invested in the prosperity of agrifood innovation and related industries.
  • Drive: Leaders who are motivated to promote a sustainable and innovative future for Australian agriculture and its industries, and are already taking steps to achieve this, whether that be through a research project, innovative development, or community initiative.
  • Aspiration: Leaders who are ready for the opportunity to build their capacity, network and grow their ideas as individuals with an ‘exceptional edge’.

Mentoring

These five successful applicants formed the 2025 cohort and received presentation-based mentoring from industry professional, Bryce Ives who will assist them in developing a strategy to achieve their goals at evokeAG. 2025.

Their mentor Bryce worked with the cohort to workshop their key messages, innovation, or research, determining a clear goal, and encouraging them to utilise the evokeAG. platform to showcase themselves and what they are trying to achieve.

Their post-event strategic planning with Bryce was accompanied by a final targeted placement or learning and development opportunity.
