AgValueAdd CRC
Australia grows world-class agricultural produce, but too much of the value is still captured offshore. The real bottleneck isn’t ideas; it’s scaling proven concepts from pilot to reliable commercial production without any one company carrying all the technical and commercial risk.
AgValueAdd CRC is a proposed, industry-led national Cooperative Research Centre and scale-up platform designed to solve that problem.
Focused on the “messy middle” of TRL 4–8, the CRC will help partners turn under-valued agricultural feedstocks and residues into circular inputs, sustainable biomaterials and higher-value ingredients. By coordinating applied R&D, engineering support, pilot and demonstration infrastructure, evidence to inform policy and regulation, and co-investment, AgValueAdd CRC aims to de-risk scale-up, accelerate market readiness and unlock private and public investment.
The goal is simple: capture more value from what Australia already produces and keep that value onshore – building regional manufacturing capability, new revenue streams and a stronger bioeconomy.

Hear what our partners had to say
“We met these businesses at AgriFutures evokeAG., and a year later, we’ve been able to invest in a partnership with Pairtree to develop solutions which might simplify data management for our customers, and we’ve run a pilot with Ruminati for farmers across three states,”
Natasha Greenwood, General Manager Agribusiness, CommBank
Having attended multiple evokeAG. events, Pairtree Founder Hamish Munro returns year-on-year and is a strong advocate for it being “the event” where meaningful connections are made. “We met Syngenta at the first evokeAG. in 2019 and they’ve now invested in us. At evokeAG. 2023 we connected with CommBank in Startup Alley who we’ve since established a partnership with and have secured investment via its venture fund x15ventures."
