Going global: line-up revealed for evokeAG. Startup Program in 2025

More than 50 startups and scaleups from 10 countries have been selected to feature at Asia Pacific’s premier agrifood innovation event, evokeAG. in Brisbane on 18-19 February 2025.

The selected startups, hailing from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Chile, India, Israel, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, represent a diverse and innovative cross-section of the global agrifood innovation ecosystem.

These ambitious companies are tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing the sector, from sustainable agriculture and precision farming to supply chain optimisation and biotechnology.

The evokeAG. 2025 Startup Program offers a unique platform for startups and scaleups to showcase their solutions to key challenges in agriculture, attract investment, forge commercial partnerships and drive positive change in the agrifood sector.

Recently awarded as Startup Daily’s 2024 Startup Event of the Year, evokeAG. continues to attract the brightest innovators across the global agrifood sector.

AgriFutures General Manager, Global Innovation Networks, Harriet Mellish, said the program received an overwhelming number of responses.

“For 2025, we received a record number of 124 applications from 22 different countries, which demonstrates the important role of evokeAG in providing a platform for cross-industry and cross-regional connections,” Ms Mellish said.

“The startups selected for this year’s program are offering novel solutions to many of our biggest challenges, whether that be water use and fertiliser use efficiency, labour shortages, greenhouse gas emissions, on-farm safety or simplifying decision making for producers in a data-rich environment.

“The coming together of diverse perspectives is vital for the future growth of the global agrifood sector. In an era of rapidly evolving and often volatile market and climatic conditions, the need for innovative solutions and partnership across the agrifood supply chain has never been more critical.”

Delegates can look forward to seeing groundbreaking new ideas and technologies from 40 exhibitors in ‘Startup Alley’ alongside the advancements of ten returning enterprises at ‘Scaleup Station’.

“We are proud to have some of the previous startup companies returning to evokeAG. now as a scaleup. These businesses are growing, offering new products, and connecting with new users. It highlights the importance of evokeAG. in driving investment in innovative solutions,” Ms Mellish said.

Minister for Primary Industries Tony Perrett said the upcoming event helps position Queensland as an industry leader in AgTech.

“The Queensland Government is committed to boosting Queensland’s primary industries to $30 billion by 2030 – new and innovative products, services and practices will help us achieve this ambition,” Minister Perrett said.

“These startups represent an exciting opportunity to merge global expertise with local insights, improving productivity with the adoption of cutting edge AgTech and innovation.

“This event puts Queensland’s agriculture sector on a global stage, and I am proud to see such heightened recognition for the industry.”

Agventure Downunder enables international startups to scale into Australia

For 2025, homegrown talent from Australia will be joined initiative.

As Harriet Mellish explains, the enterprises involved in the ‘Agventure Downunder’ program are ready to take the next step and scale into Australia.

“These are startups that are looking for business insights, networks and tailored market access support to deliver promising technologies into an Australian marketplace that has great potential for growth,” Ms Mellish said.

“Global brands view us as a launching pad for innovation, eager to partner with us because they recognise Australia is in a strong position to capitalise on new technologies emerging for agriculture.”

Throughout the two-day event selected startups and scaleups will present their innovation in action on the Demonstration Stage. Additionally, ten of the cohort will feature in the Culinary Capital networking dinner, facilitating more in-depth discussions between delegates.

AgriFutures evokeAG. is the largest showcase of innovation in the southern hemisphere, providing a platform for innovators, scientists, investors, industry experts and agrifood producers to share bold ideas and solutions for the future of global agriculture.
