National Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs
The 8 hubs support farmers and communities to get ready for drought. They connect farmers with regional agricultural experts, innovation and new practices.
A Knowledge Broker is available at each hub. Their role is to translate science into practice for their region. They use their network to encourage collaboration and learning across the hubs. They also help build connections with other Future Drought Fund programs.
In January 2022, the Australian Government announced an extra $3 million for the hubs to host Regional Soil Coordinators. They will help farmers and land managers improve their soil management. This will increase their productivity, profitability, and sustainability.
In March 2022, an extra $9 million was announced for Adoption Officers. Adoption Officers will work with farmers and their communities to pick up the relevant tools, knowledge and support provided by the hubs and others.
Natraplas
Natraplas, a family-oriented business in WA, transcends the role of a typical eco-friendly supplier.
Collaborating with local and international partners, we offer cost-effective off-the-shelf options and tailor-made solutions. Our focus extends to the bioplastic and sustainability industry, forging connections with global pioneers. Originating from the imperative to curb single-use plastic waste in Pilbara mine sites, Natraplas emerged over a decade of experience.
We proposed a compostable circular solution to a major mining company, adapting available options for the harsh Pilbara conditions. Collaborating with global resources, including our research head in Italy, ensured innovative problem-solving. The synergy with major miners not only minimises environmental impact but also yields economies of scale, allowing us to make sustainable solutions economically viable for the broader market.
Natraplas remains committed to local growth, involving the community and fostering sustainable practices with each expansion.

Rumin8
Rumin8 is a Perth-based, agriculture-focused, climate technology company using pharmaceutical technology to reproduce and stabilise nature’s solutions to make affordable feed supplements that reduce methane emissions from livestock.
The patented technology it pioneered stabilizes the target compound (Tribromomethane) using a highly scalable, repeatable and low-cost pharmaceutical process.
