We all know farming is difficult enough without the added challenges of changing weather patterns, increasing water scarcity and the need to grow more with less. Global agriculture is further complicated by a deluge of data that often confuses rather than directs decision making. As previous farmers themselves, the founders of SWAN Systems lived this problem and set about developing a unique software platform to solve it.

SWAN’s focus is on the precise scheduling of water and nutrients to get the most out of every input. Independent of hardware and integrating with over 70 different farm devices, SWAN turns current, historic and predictive data into simple and actionable irrigation decisions. It is completely configurable across crop type, soil type, growth stage and seasonal outlook, meaning that it can be tailored to suit different operations, locations, and production goals.

SWAN Systems makes farmers’ lives easier by transforming data from existing hardware into insights. Better irrigation decisions will mean that crop production will be optimised and farm gross margins improved; all while reducing harmful environmental events such as runoff and leaching. Information is presented on a user-friendly interface, with the reporting component of SWAN designed to provide a bird’s eye view of what’s going on from a water and nutrient management perspective, across the whole or multiple operations.
