Rose Hopkins

Rose is a freelance writer and communications specialist with more than 10 years’ experience working in eCommerce, digital content and design, journalism, social media, public relations, stakeholder relations and event management.

Rose started out as a rural journalist for Fairfax Media, before going into media and communications for Meat & Livestock Australia, which included moving to London as part of a small team representing the Australian red meat industry’s trade and marketing priorities in the European Union. In London, she also worked in eCommerce for leading specialist retail grocer Waitrose & Partners before relocating to New York City for a fresh adventure.

As a journalist, writer and media specialist, she has spent her career asking questions, being curious and helping connect consumers, brands and communities to food and agriculture through digital storytelling.

She is currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition through La Trobe University to deepen her scientific understanding of food and hopes to share her knowledge with readers to empower people to make healthy, ethical and sustainable food choices.
