Turning satellite imagery into actionable advice for farmers

In this Food Futurists x evokeAG. collab podcast Professor Andy Lowe speaks with Dr Moira Smith, Digital Content Analysis Technology (D-CAT) Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer. Andy and Moira explore D-CAT’s involvement with agriculture, the range of possibilities satellite sensor technology offers, such as weight management, optimising grazing cycles and yield predictions. And why integration and collaboration is the key in allowing farmers to better utilise this technology.

The space race to Mars is well and truly underway. But how are off world and satellite technologies helping with our lives here on earth? How are satellites visualising the health of crops and informing the optimal management of future automated farms?

Andy spoke with Moira earlier this year to learn more about CubeSats and their role in the democratisation of space, turning satellite imagery into actionable advice and the promise of radar and hyperspectral satellites to drive the next wave of agtech innovation.

We hope you enjoy their conversation.
