Western Australia (WA) is home to innovative farmers, a diverse range of industries, strong exporting experience and an established and vibrant agrifood tech innovation community. evokeAG. 2024 is about showcasing our exceptional edge to the world and helping our delegates – especially producers – find their cutting edge. And what better way to build on that than diving headfirst into the evokeAG. sideline events?
The workshops, tours, and meetings held throughout the week of evokeAG. 2024 are an opportunity to dive into WA products, services, innovations and regional strengths, as well as explore opportunities and solutions to global agrifood and beverage supply chain challenges.
Delivered by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) and a host of WA organisations and evokeAG. 2024 partners, the sideline events will range from workshops and meetings in Perth, through to onsite demonstrations and three-day regional tours.

Joan Lim, Project Director – evokeAG. WA 2024, from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, encouraged delegates to maximise their experience and secure tickets to one the many sideline events running from Sunday, 18 February to Monday, 26 February 2024.
“The entire week of evokeAG. is massive and it’s jam packed full of different possibilities for delegates to really engage with the WA sector through the sideline events in particular,” she said.
“Right now, there’s a range of really robust sideline events being curated across the industry, and we are expecting more to come, especially highlighting some of the really strong Western Australian areas of competitive advantage like grains.”
Explore Western Australia’s exceptional grain gains
The Western Australian grain sector is a global leader in the production of quality cereal grains. So why not celebrate it? The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) will be hosting afternoon coach tours to facilities at the forefront of agriculture innovation in WA. Climb aboard and get ready to explore the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre, InterGrain Breeding Facility, the CBH Group’s Australian Grains Centre, and CBH’s Kwinana Grain Terminal.

Guests will have the chance to taste-test food produced through innovative techniques, watch as robots pack seed or crush seeds for DNA extraction, and visit the place where six million tonnes of grain leave WA each year.

“The grain innovation tour will visit all the major sites in our grains value chain from what we like to call ‘lab to ladle’,” Joan explained.
“It will give all delegates, and particularly international delegates, a very strong understanding about grain varieties around WA and will really show every aspect of our grains industry – which is of course 50% market share of the entire Australian grains production and export.”
Launch into the future at Bungulla Farm
The spotlight will also be on WA at The Future Farm: On Farm Innovation Showcase, hosted by evokeAG. Gold Sponsor, Carbon Sync.
Set against the backdrop of Kate and Brad Jones’s Bungulla Farm in Tammin, this event, scheduled just before evokeAG., is a must-attend for farmers and ag-tech industry professionals.
